Let’s Make a Scene | 2016 -

’S e oidhche ‘open mic’ a th’ ann Let’s Make a Scene, a chur mi air dòigh mar fhreagairt do dh’iarrtas bhon choimhearsnachd, ‘s iad air ainmeachadh nach robh àite ann do dhaoine a bha a’ sgrìobhadh ceòl agus bàrdachd ùr, agus a bha airson a thaisbeanadh sa bhaile.

Ged a thòisich mi fhìn am pròiseact agus an oidhche ‘open mic’, dh’fhàs coimhearsnachd fa leth a-mach à Let’s Make a Scene, agus the buidheann de chom-pàirtichean a tha a-nis ga ruith còmhla a-nis, le taic bho dhuine sam bith eile a tha airson a bhith an sàs. Gheibh sinn tlachd agus neart bhon a bhith a’ tighinn còmhla agus a’ taisbeanadh ar cuid ealain air beulaibh càch a chèile - agus ‘s e fìor dheagh spòrs a th’ ann cuideachd. ’S e nàdar de thaigh cèilidh a th’ ann, air nòs ùr.

Tha Let’s Make a Scene a’ gabhail àite ceithir no còig tursan sa bhliadhna, aig an Studio Theatre, Tallaichean Chorrainn san Òban.

Let’s Make a Scene | 2016 -

Let’s Make a Scene is a regular community open mic event which I initiated as a response to a need identified in the community for a space where people who are writing new music and poetry can share their work locally.

Though I initiated the project, an independent community has grown out of Let’s Make a Scene, and the project is now run collectively by a group of regular participants, with input from anyone who wants to be part of it. We get pleasure and strength from coming together and performing to each other - and we have a really good laugh as well. It’s a cèilidh house of sorts, with a contemporary twist.

Let’s Make a Scene currently takes place four or five times a year at the Studio Theatre, Corran Halls Studio, Oban.
